Driving Directions

From Austin, take Loop 1 (MoPac) south. You’ll pass Slaughter Lane 8.2 miles south of Lady Bird Lake, which many folks still call Town Lake.

South of Slaughter, you will be forced to turn right, and Loop 1 will “become” SH 45. Keep going. About 4.9 miles after Slaughter, the road will dead-end at 1826 (Camp Ben McCullough). Turn left on 1826.

Continue on 1826 until it dead-ends at 150 (8.8 miles later). You will pass the Salt Lick BBQ along the way. Turn left on Hwy 150.

On Hwy 150, go 0.6 mile, and then turn right on Elder Hill Road (Hwy 170). Elder Hill Road is your first right, and it's right across from the Driftwood Methodist Church.

You'll find Panther Creek Road on your left about 2.8 miles down Elder Hill. (You'll pass the big entrance for the La Ventana neighborhood along the way. ) Turn left on Panther Creek Road.

The entrance to the Panther Creek neighborhood is much more modest. It looks like a ranch gate, really. There are eight stone columns and a black gate with the words "Panther Creek" on them.

Our driveway is 1.0 mile down Panther Creek Road, on your right. It’s the fourth one on the right side, with a “700” on a stone address marker just next to the driveway. We have a black fence and gate at the tree line.

Overall, it's 26.3 miles from where Mopac crosses the Colorado River, and you should plan on it taking about 35 minutes from there. Unless there is a festival in town. ;-)
